We regret that we do NOT accept credit cards. Also note that in Malawi ATMs are uncommon outside the bigger towns, are frequently out of action and even when they are working will not give you more than about $80 per day. Despite the risks, we recommend that you travel with enough cash for your visit.
Also please note that US$ 100 and US$ 50 notes printed before 2006 are not accepted in Malawi, nor do banks accept $1 notes, so BUa River Lodge regrets we cannot accept these notes.
With the exception of camping and backpackers' accommodation, all quoted rates are per person, per night and include accommodation and three meals a day, plus afternoon tea and tea and coffee at other times; short, guided walks in the vicinity of the lodge; government surtax and tourism levy. No singles supplement is charged. Children under 12 years sharing parents' room, half-price (Island and Riverside rooms only). Children under 2 years old pay only for food consumed.
Camping charges are per person, per night, self-catering. Backpackers' charges are per room (double or single), per night self-catering.
Prices do NOT include: Drinks, park entry fees (currently $10 per person per day and $3 per vehicle per day for non-residents); game scout hire charges ($10 per day) and activity charges.
With the exception of camping all quoted rates are per person, per night, full board. Camping prices are per person per night. Please note that, due to the current frequent fluctuations in the value of the Malawi Kwacha it is not realistic to publish Kwacha prices. For that reason the Kwacha column is blank. We will use the mid-bank rate on the day of payment to calculate Kwacha prices.
2017 rates, Green season (1st January to 31st March) and Peak season (1st April to 31st December) are quoted in brackets.

It is a requirement that an armed game scout accompanies any walking parties in the reserve. The charge is $10 per scout per day. Bua River Lodge will add this fee to your bill on behalf of African Parks and pay the revenue to the government monthly.
